City Signal

A sonic/visual intervention at Shivajinagar Bus Stand subway. More @ City Signals courtesy archana.

Desperately awaiting the video, weirdly enough to hear the sound. The acoustics of that place was amazing, brilliant reverb. Richard and I worked with horrible speakers, were pretty loud too, but still sounded nice to our ears.

Bangalore Soundmap

was long ago back in the umrikan times, when i saw and heard a sound map for nyc subway stations. it was made using flash, and you could click at different stations or even somewhere between two stations to hear field recordings of that particular point. much like New York City Sound Map
well plans are there to do the same for bangalore, but wanna go one step further. i want to mix sounds.
1. click on point A - sound A(will most probably document time)
2. click on point B - sound A will slowly mix with Sound B
ideally i would like people to help me with sounds of their areas... let see. the plans are very vague. have to work on the visual aspect first.
maybe i can add things such as temperature, as independent variable which would trigger manipulations, hence the soundscapes will change with temperature, but that would require some streaming from a local server situation along with super collider or reaktor... thats the end of that  might work as an installation. crappers

Flying Lotus

I definitely found my self a new musical hero in Steven Ellision aka Flying Lotus aka Fly Lo. A laptop artist - (ableton addick for sure - have heard he uses monome-want one of them babies for my own ableton rig) - a producer of trippy hip hop beats, don't know if trip hop would do him any justice. He is the toned down on glitch version of prefuse 73. his beats tend to be simple, samples and the soundscapes very ambient but he fucks around with time signatures and tempo which can be annoying for some but for me its full intrast. been tripping on his new album Los Angeles - album most definitely made under the influence. The album is slightly more accessible compared to his previous stuff like 1983 and reset ep. Its a trippier album with little experimentation with time, tempo, rhythm, etc. My favorite personal from the album is Testament feat Gonja Sufi, one of the trippiest songs i have heard for a while.
ok ok work beckons.
bye

p.s reckoner remix on myspace should be HEARD.
you HEARD?

cut copy paste undo: joe sat vs coldplay

video of interest: Joe Sat might just keep a cut out of the profits made by Coldplay off Viva la Vida. charges have been filed. Here is a mash up that makes a strong case for Joe Sat. Now I have reasons to believe that maybe, just maybe there's more to coldplay than radiohead.
